What a day it's been! First took little Bubs to the groomer. Then, just before I was leaving for my futures meeting with Rowena, I got an email from Nima, the chair of English at Ryerson, asking if I could come in for a meeting this afternoon to discuss 'a potential position' (more on that later;)....Then Bike Host mentor/mentee meeting night, and now home for a late dinner after a walk with the new streamlined Bubs around the park... :)

Rowena and I had a lovely meeting, and she was so excited for my future. For OUR future as well. As a creative couple. She said to me she had a vision of us running an art school, doing arts projects, residencies, being a contribution in partnership to the creative community, to kids and students, to our peers, to our broader community. It was such a beautiful vision. I had a vision of us in Banff doing an interdisciplinary residency, of us working/teaching at a school together, of us being involved with community arts projects in Toronto, in wherever we live down the road!

I listed possibilities that I'm committed to:

Doubling my income this year (she thought this was too safe!) So maybe doubling, and then doubling again next year! and then, and then.... :)

Our new car! (Jetta wagon, baby!) by the end of the year.

Having a second property within 2 years....Joseph spoke with me about home equity line of credit ... it's an exciting idea to think that we could make a downpayment on another place borrowing against the equity of this place. I know it's good to be really careful with real estate, but I just thought "hey - this house is very likely worth a million dollars now (the Toronto market is crazy)...why not use some of that equity money to grow our assets, our financial stability, our lives, our ABUNDANCE?'... so that is something I'm excited to brainstorm with you and my folks about...

Doing Bikram teacher training

Renovating the basement bathroom, the upstairs kitchen, the upstairs bathroom, deck...

Having Bike Buddies be a city-wide program....so much to look forward to!

And, I am so excited to see what is next for you! Joanne wants to connect you with Lord Cultural, which is a Canadian based company that has the global museum/consultant project planning market cornered...I'm also really excited to see how you could be involved at Ryerson, maybe in Randy's department? Your permanent installation work will grow and grow, and you will be a sought after visiting artist...and maybe even run your own centre one day (if you want to that is ;)...

The meeting I had at Ryerson was because the English Dept. is recommending me for a position editing/overseeing a book project. The University is doing a big commemorative book to coincide with the launch of the new student centre. So this would be a 6+ month contract, 36 hrs/wk (likely), and would start really soon! So the next step is to meet/have an interview with the Provosts' office. But I know the English Dept. is recommending me strongly... Yikes! It's a bit scary, but it's also the possibility of making some real money, and doing a really big project, and learning so much, and setting myself up for what's next! But I don't want to get ahead of myself.... :)

I really really really am excited for you to be here...I saw Christine last night (she is actually playing with Bahamas in NY so you will meet!)...and she said after her and Ali have been apart for a while, they just lie on top of each other for like an hour. Naked. No kissing, no sex, no talking, just two bodies getting to know each other again. Feeling deeply one another. I thought that was so beautiful. I wanna do that with you! (and kissing and sex and talking toooo of course!;) ... When I worked out this morning, I thought about you so much.
I am sorry I get down when I *think* you are down.
Somehow, I just want to like, chat. and be SO EASY with one another, but when I *think* you are down or stressed, you really feel cold to me. Its not really fair. THen I read your email, and I thought….WOAH. It was so energetic, and sweet and full.

I remember thinking that same contrast from our emails, to when we first skyped. You were SO SOMBER, and it scared me. I think your quietness/coolness scares me, because I ALWAYS think something is wrong. and I am sorry for that. I let it actually make me, think I am SAD. or somehow lonely.

I haven't really unpacked that yet. and I don't have something to offer about "how I am committed to changing it" because I am not sure yet what that looks like for me. But I do believe that looking at it last night, MUCH more softly, and finding my love for you, rather than letting annoyance and temper get in front of it, was really nice.

I actually felt swollen with love and compassion for you. For your stress over money/job.
And, I appreciate DEEPLY, your commitment to taking the communication course with me, and to being my NUMBER ONE co-pirate in creating our relationship. Getting to know one another. and our COMMITTMENT to LETTING JOY IN!

It’s 3 weeks ago today you drove Big Red back down to NC… It’s hard to believe.

It feels like an eternity since you’ve been gone! Coming home to the house quiet (Bubba is still with my folks) was kind of eerie….I went for dinner up at Anna and Ben's (and gave Little A his birthday present - a book of Newfoundland rhymes :) ... and now I'm cozied up in our new sheets and comforter…

we are just home after a wrap-up pint downtown. we visited friends of kieran's out in torbay (about a 15 min drive outside of st. johns...here is what the weather was like when we hiked nearby:

the wind was SO STRONG AND COLD!!! it was like little salt and ice chunks blowing into your face!! like an ice/salt facial!! it almost blew us over!!!

and...here is an excerpt from the Wittgenstein book I am reading, "The Blue and Brown Books"...
